    Hello ,
I have just discovered the forum and by reading some posts i got the motivation to start my own thing but i need help with the first steps.

I m a Student of Computer Sciences living in Germany.I already work as software developer in a small company.I m not satisfied with the work and i think that the money isn't worth the time/effort spent.
I won't quit my job but i need something to generate more income & to boost my ego(as making money on my own was always an enjoyable feeling).
When i was 15 i worked with some file hosting websites (like depositfile,rapidgator...) and i gained in total in the 400$.
4 years ago , i earned 800$ from when Crypto (mainly Bitcoin ) were a thing. I had since this experience no time to work or atleast to stay uptodate
with the best methods to earn some good money & enjoy it.
I have now 3 months time in order to launch a profitable business ( but since i already work , so i can't work on my personal project more than 20h/week).
I have 2 ideas in mind and i need your help to decide:
The niche that i want to dive into is online gaming( main topic (if SEO) : E-Sports Events).
Is it more profitable to focus on Affilate Marketing or SEO(adsense)?.
Is Wordpress a good choice to begin with ?( i had the idea to build my own script from scratch but i think now that its a waste of time)
Since i m a newbie It will be very nice if you guys could give me some advices on the steps to follow and provide me with some ressources

I thank you guys in advance

Hey man I'm a newbie also but I think both Affiliate and Seo is profitable. It all depends on how hard you work about it. As for wordpress, I think it's a good alternative since it's properly configured.
    But I'm also a beginner ;)

I think your questions are too broad to get real answers from people here.
It's good that you have an idea of the niche you want to target. That's a good first step. But you need to figure out the rest.

You ask Adsense or affiliate marketing. Why not both? Adsense on its own won't make you much money unless you bring in a ton of traffic per month.

You need to figure out how to get traffic. I haven't looked into it but I'm guessing eSports is a pretty competitive niche. How will you get an edge? If you focus on SEO, how will you beat other sites in rankings? If you don't focus on SEO, you need to either kill It on social media (YouTube, IG, FB, Twitter, Reddit etc) or pay for ads.

Basically it all comes down to how will you create traffic. Then you can test Adsense and affiliate offers.

Thank you for your answer . I think eSports is a competitive niche ( i need maybe the tools to know how dense every niche is).I m myself a gamer and very interested in eSports . if i want to be a content creator i know that i need a niche which i can write some articles gladly (i hate to feel like i m forced to do it).I m ready to buy articles / buy traffics . I m not against investment(not much , maybe up to 100$ per month) but i think investments need to be done wisely(thats why i m asking here for the right path to go...). i m still making an idea of the affilate marketing(read some articles and currently reading a book). But i believe that i can get more help here in BHW(because everytime i read on the internet somewhere else i feel like the author is somehow searching for his own profit(what i can understand...))

First of all - forget about gambling niche before you have experience and money to invest. Check some journeys here and then maybe you ll find something for you. You will see that most journeys failed to achieve their goals. As a gamer you could write some guides and tutorials about game or games you play and like.Gaming niche is far more easy than gambling

I wouldn’t suggest quitting your job yet to hop on the IM boat, I still work two jobs offline(that’s how I fund my IM prodject) while building my IM prodject. It’s a relieving feeling that even if you fail online(which you will) you still have something offline to keep money in your pocket untill you can afford to quit your job.

I can’t give you all the answers because even I don’t have all the answers, I’m still riding the waves of my own IM journey.

I would do something around PPC(easier, you don’t have to sell anything just drive traffic to the link) unless you’re well known in the esports/gaming community.

There is a website that’ll give you a good idea I came across by accident, when I get home I’ll give the website cause I can’t find it anymore but it’s bookmarked on my PC.

Thank you for your answer . But you missunderstood me (i have never talked of gambling ^^)

I have never planned to quit my offline job ( it affords a kind of security for me ) .I also think that learning to drive traffic in my website is the first step to make. Can you give me some links on PPC ? is Wordpress fine ? ( is a premium wordpress (4$/month) needed ) ?

    Thank you

I just put that out there are for as the job thing because people dream off quitting their job and think it's easy and they're going to make tons of money off IM especially off the start without putting in the work and then reality hits and find out it's very fucking hard(at first)

Here is the website(I just got home) https://www.dexerto.com/ take a look you can follow a similar format but this just gives you a idea, website + Adsense + PPC banners etc.. your PPC would be any advertising relevant to gaming, I would do a combination off affiliate link+PPC(anything relevant to gaming) I can't tell you exactly what PPC sites to use for gaming specifically because I'm in the make money niche but it's all the same concept here. Amazon affiliate links for gaming related products, gfuel, controllers etc..

    1. dog niche
    2. dog website, blog, IG, Youtube etc..(whaever your platform)
    3. drive traffic to website, blog, IG, Youtube, etc..(many SEO services on here, SEOclerk or SMM panels that can help you rank on Google or YouTube)
    4. advertisement would be dog related amazon products, any PPC advertisement that is dog related, affiliates for dog services(you get the idea)
    5. profit???

that was a general idea, just plug this concept in for gaming.

I have started by buying a domain & host and installing Wordpress .Is there any problem when using a 'hacked' premium theme ?
If you guys don't mind help me getting those themes for free(sorted by priority):
    (themeforest -> i can't post links yet)

Kappa - A Gaming WordPress Theme
PixieHuge | eSports Gaming Theme For Clans & Organizations
CrystalSkull - Gaming Magazine WordPress Theme
Gamezone | Gaming Blog & Store WordPress Theme

i made some google searches but found nothing interesting and i don't know if those themes are in @Festinger 's themes collection(still waiting for his reply )

EDIT:Is there any Plugins that are necessary ?
So i will be glad if someone could help ^^

Here's a tip: just because a WordPress theme is marketed with the word "game" in the title, it does not mean you need to use it to build a gaming niche site.

Pick any simple theme and focus on getting content on it. You can perfect the look of it later if and when you actually have traffic.

Hey man! I am from Germany too!

You should combine Affilate Marketing and SEO(adsense) / or other CPA networks. I have seen this work before.

The German market is quite small in my experience but if you can still setup in a good niche in German, you can target DACH countries. Once you have enough traffic you can even open a small fan store on your site either doing dropshipping or selling the products yourself.

Longterm, you should forget affiliate marketing as a stable source of income. It is neither stable nor secure. At anytime the provider can cut you off and ban you ultimately. I know people who were banned with over 20K USD in affiliate profit in their accounts and there was no way to appeal their case. So, the idea is to try affiliate marketing to confirm you are in a good niche segment so that you can move on to marketing your own products in that area. That's where the real money is anyway.

And Wordpress is great! Search engines love it and since it is widely used, you can get support in all possible languages. I have been using wordpress since around 2008-2009 and do alot of adjustments myself like SEO, Wordpress security (VERY IMPORTANT) and CSS changes. With your background, you should get a hang of it quite easily. It was not a good CMS for shops not too long ago but today it has developed into quite a powerful too. You can do almost anything with WP today.
