You don't even have to care about specific search strings. These sites are going for pure volume and targeting every keyword under the sun (eg. how to swim across the English channel while eating a bag of nachos). Google doesn't have much relevant content to show for these keywords so it propels these sites to the first few positions.

Some automated amazon affiliate sites have also gained quite a bit of link juice and are ranking for a ton of juicy affiliate keywords with shite content.

If you have 100,000 crappy articles, if your articles get an average of 10 visits per month, then you will have 1 million visitors in a month.

It's just a numbers game.

Those sites don't last that long in Google though.

Better to have 1,000 high-quality articles each getting 1,000 average visits. Same result but little to no risk of Google penalty.

Yeah indexing is an issue with large sites. I have a smaller site of less than 1,000 articles and my new articles take a long time to get indexed nowadays, when it was almost instant a year ago. Sometimes I have to go to GSC and request indexing.

Exactly, but sometimes they raking top 10 for some "real" KW. Could be a good oppotunity to do a real article on these KW.

Do you know what are they using to create the KW and topics to give to AI content writer?

the process is directly determined by the page generation method....is it AI, or is it standard scrape and re-shape....AI content generation is considerably more complex than the traditional methods.

What's your process?

Feed a seed topic into Semrush and export all the questions related to that topic

Sanitize the export for innappropriate questions

Import the keyword list into my custom tool and let it do it's thing

Import the CSV articles into my website using All Import wordpress plugin

I am now thinking about doing this myself for one of my blogs. Like why sit down and take a week to write 5 articles when I can push out 50 in a week. I'm gonna be doing this but I will be going over some of the articles myself and adding images where I see necessary. Thanks for this

The ones that are ranking for "real" keywords have amassed enough link juice to wreck Google's algo.

Either they have access to GPT-2 or they are using a paid 3rd party tool. Afaik keywords are being scraped manually using an in-house tool or they might be generating huge lists from tools like Ahrefs.

I'm not an expert but it's quite easy to recognized AI content (especially when not proofread). They all have the same structure and writing style.

Why not just outsource all your content needs to people willing to learn?

This is the difference between a job and a business. In business, you try to work as little as possible. In a job, you are the one responsible for doing tasks.

There's no set pattern or footprint to detect sites that are using AI on a large scale. You have to watch the SERPs and look for outliers.
