Isn't it harder to choose such a small language (Scandinavian) over English? The competition is most likely less but does it really pay of? I mean , wouldn't you have better return from the amount of time and skill you put in?

Yeah, it's something you have to get used to. I tried, but didn't like the "one week in Phuket, next week in Koh Larn, then three weeks in bangkok, then a week in Phi Phi island" lifestyle. It looks great on Youtube, but it's a freaking hassle.

Stay in one place, get a good network with friends and a good place to live and work. And you'll be happy.

I browsed the forum quite a lot yesterday and out of the blue I happened to come to your journey as well. You are the real deal, man. There is nothing that should stop you from getting to a stable 2000-3000 €/month over the next year with your persistency.

Hmm, I don't think it is. It's a give and take obviously. if you rank for "best credit card" in the US, you can be a dollar millionaire within three-four months. If you do that in Sweden, you can earn decent amount. On the flip side, the amount of work needed to rank for small countries is much less.

As you might also be able to tell, my English writing skills are not very good. However, I am a very good writer in at least 2 of the 3 scandinavian languages - so I prefer to spend my energy there.

You are probably right, I have zero experience in this. To me it feels as if it is not worth it if its not English, but that's probably because I have zero experience .

Yeah I see that as a "norm" on this forum. People claim that non-English content gives a smaller RPM.

That could be correct if you're thinking about Tier 3 countries (which most people on BHW come from). But the GDP per capita in Scandinavia is not exactly low. There are enough people with money to search for these "money keywords".

November update - what a month!​

...and I'm not talking about this specific project. In November, I guess I earned enough money to completely finance my whole next year here in South East Asia. Tasty.

In regards to this project, we see some small increasing numbers now.

Sales:

31 sales (14 sales in October)
221 USD earned (114 USD in October)

As you can see, I more than doubled the sales in November compared to October. Still not much to talk about though.

Traffic:

The traffic situation is still garbage. In fact, we got 3 LESS visitors in November compared to October. Haha:



Can't wait to the day when we hit 20,000 sessions (acqusition in GA) on this website.

Don't people really search for tips for their pets during November? Hmm.

Main tasks in December:

- We have found 10 articles written by a competitor. Money pages. Will write all of them and hopefully have them all published before New years eve.

- 5 super helpful guides will also be published.

- My business partner will still build links, at least 20-25 links in Dec.

In total, on the good side of 20k$.

I just got involved in another project that will require a lot of finance (and zero work as we outsource everything). So might push most of the money into that project. It's more fun and better spend of money to invest rather than to just have a lot of cash in your bank account I guess.

Correct. It's all about investing those devaluating fiat coins than leaving them rotting in a bank account just losing value

I see you got banned now. Might have been by the fact that you were posting a lot on literally all threads.

Anyway: I agree. Right now I am spending a lot of time on the phone with people who have succeeded with investments. My own apartment is indeed a great investment - and I hope to pay that all off next year - but I want more. I want to also master stocks, website investments, crypto, etc.

Not happening a lot in December to be frank. Will start working on this website in early January I guess...keeping a bit of a pause from online marketing at the moment due to the momentum I got in November.

Update - Bad numbers and the way forward

First of all: happy new year, guys!

# Sales: 14
Revenue: 162 usd $.

Terrible numbers. But that's alright - I think there might be better times ahead.

Also, my other websites had another killer month. Therefore, it's slightly hard to find motivation to work on this project atm.

Traffic

As you can see below, the traffic numbers over the last three months have been more or less equal. No change. And the reason why it's no change? Simply because I don't work on the website at the moment.


No idea where this graph will be heading in 2022.

Plan in January:

Nothing. Will start to work on this website again in February or March.

My other projects are not only more profitable, but also more important to work with at the moment.

I think I'll be on par in December as well, will update in a few days.

But this month it'll go down hard for sure. I guess you taking a break is not a bad idea, cause January is a slow month.

January is slow, but this project will reach record high numbers both in terms of number of sales and revenue. So stay tuned for an update in a couple of days.

Hello guys, we recently ended another month. To be frank, I had very little expectations regarding January.

After all, it’s a month that to most people relates to workout, money saving and “making your life better”. Not buying pet products online.

However, we got a new traffic and revenue record.

Income in January 2022

# Sales: 33 (new record)
Revenue: 421 USD (new record)

Traffic in January 2022



So 1395 unique users. That’s a nothing burger. Let’s be honest about that.

However. Squeezing more than 400 USD out of 1395 users in a month is good. Very good. If all the money-related factors keep stable during the growth over the next months, we can look at closing this project at 2000 USD when we got about 6000-8000 unique users, which is bizarre.

It says a lot about how good I am at writing landing pages and product recommendations that sell.

Looking at that graph, many of you would go:

"ffuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuukkkkkkk, I wish that was my Analytics stats!"

It can be. I write these journeys (while this might be my last one ever) simply to motivate people. The success factor is simple:

Add super helpful content on a user-friendly platform. That's SEO.

February plan - what to do on this project?

January was a lot about going over old articles to add pictures, more text, format them better and add internal links. That progress will continue in February. I believe I have about 40-50 articles more that should be looked over.

Additionally, I plan to publish two super big affiliate articles that our competitor has written some months ago.

I mean, i have a blog, wrote like 15 articles 6-7mnths ago which I screwed as crazy competitive- and since I wrote another 10, but nothing.

Also I’m just ranking for 21kws while all articles are 1,500-3,500words.

What I’m planning to do is publishing 10 articles min / month + seriously start to build links (paying service). You think it will work?

Hey man, thanks a lot. The website has been "live" for many years, but it was only used for link building before. So the content was crap and typically 200-300 word articles that would rank back in 2008-2009. Not anymore.

So this is an example of the value of continue on working on a website that has not been taken care of for years, but that was already indexed in Google.

I think you answer your question yourself. It all comes down to keyword research. If you don't use Ahrefs yet, you have to start. It's a must. I was like this 10 years ago: wrote super helpful articles of 2000-3000 words, but none of them ranked. Then I figured out that finding the right keywords is 100 % key to success. If you write a 5000 word article about "best web hosting", there's about 0 % chance that you will ever get traffic to that post.

With the first part: yes, I agree. Not too sure about link building as I got someone to do that part for me. But I've seen people succeed with buying links.

You know I just kinda needed some motivation - reassuring that the plan I’m about to take is going to work, eventually.

As it drew me back a bit that I’ve done ~15 articles with tons of work and absolutely nothing, ranking only for 21KWs while overall at least 30k words.

Low competition keywords + good content (amount as well, not just 5articles) + backlinks.
