Hello everybody! I want to be a programmer and need some advice

I'm a newbie want to be a programmer but I don't know a thing about it right now. Can anyone tell me what I should start learning from? Specifically PHP, JAVA OR C#.... Which should be the first priority to learn?

Welcome to bhw. So, what is it that you want to do with your skills? Make a website? Make desktop based software?

In any case, I would recommend not starting with Java, as it can be really difficult for a new programmer (even in cs courses, java is taught much later).

My recommendation would be to start with typescript (as well as javascript) and/or golang for web based software. As for desktop based ones, I am not sure. Perhaps C++ will be a good place to start.

Everywhere I go to ask for direction on what I'm doing, I'm reminded that understanding Java will open up the doors to understanding most programming languages...

Even conditional statements are coming up in Excel for me these days.

Wish I started off learning Java this end.

game dev go C#
backend , hosting etc php
building bot python.;
well whichever you starti with, as long you become expert on it, it will be easy to change language next. since what really matter is the logic not syntax
