I was hoping to just paste the video here for the AI Content Review but I guess I'll have to upload it to YouTube.

Here's the link to check out my review:
All-in-all, it took a good 20 minutes this time to generate the content. But I got held up a good 5 minutes trying to explain what I was doing on camera and some of my tools didn't work (the timer stopped and the AI checker locked up at huggingface.co).

What I didn't mention in the video is that once I generate the article and post it...I go back and read through it for clarity. I also add more things like bucket brigades and images to round out the article.

But you can see the power in creating an entire 1300 word article in under 20 minutes from start to finish. And I'll admit that I have not spent a ton of time really learning how to maximize the content writer. I have routinely created full articles in under 15 minutes so far.

I'm being offered a domain name for my real estate business. I'm pretty interested but I don't remember how to check the value of a domain name.

Can one of you geniuses remind me of where to go to determine the value of a domain name? It's RealtySouthernIdaho.com

Interesting observation this morning.

I've recently added 40+ posts to my kayak site. This morning I went back and started adding one youtube video to each post. Using the same title from my post, I searched youtube for the same title.

I grabbed that video and inserted it into my post. Should make the post more relevant to those searching out the info contained therein...right?

Anyway, by doing this, I noticed 21 new Comments on my blog. They are all pingbacks to the articles I updated. These articles have already been published.

Adding one youtube video caused them to get pingbacks. They didn't get pingbacks when I first posted them.

I had a roundtable zoom meeting with a younger group of radiology creators. The purpose was to discuss ideas to further share content about the radiology world.

Among other things, what it caused me to realize was that even though I only make $500/mo with my blog (specific, small radiology niche), it is coveted by others in my industry who are only making $30/mo with their content. It proves that my three-year journey here on BHW paid off in the long run. By sticking to a schedule and thinking outside the box, I was able to create content that consistently brings in $500/mo.

Over the years, I always felt like this wasn't very much considering all the evergreen niches bringing in thousands of dollars each month. I was jealous for sure.

Nevertheless, the group reminded me that I am thankful for the money I am able to bring in just by sharing my knowledge in a field I feel passionate about.

So no matter what you make per month on your blog, if you are making money blogging about something that you are passionate about...consider yourself blessed. You are making money doing something you enjoy.

I need some help from you guys.

As I continue to pound out content for my kayak site, I just realized how little traffic I'm actually getting.

I was up to 100 posts over two months ago and this blog is almost three years old.

Now, granted, that's not a lot of posts. But I"m only getting 30 visits A DAY....with 100 posts.

Am I completely wasting my time on this blog?!

I shared the URL early on in the journey (a couple of years ago.) Maybe Google picked it up and blacklisted my site?

That second image shows my #1 blog post and it only got 42 pagevies for the entire week of July 31 to Aug 6th.

A kayaking niche, plugged in to Ezoic and Amazon Affiliates should be making some decent cash with 100 posts and three years old.

Here's my Ezoic:

What do you guys think? Am I looking at the wrong metrics or something?

God, I see this for the first time.

Is there a summary or a table of contents?

Maybe can you just remind us how you produce content and what you use to do that?

You are getting small traffic for that amount of posts. Did you target low search volume keywords?

We are on the same place with ads earnings and traffic, but I have around 25 articles on my 8 month year old blog. Maybe its something with the keywords your're targeting?

yes

No, it shouldn't. Do you have links on this site? Do you targeted keywords with low competition? Are your articles good? etc...
What do you mean it shouldn't? If I did my kw research, wrote good articles (all of which has been logged in this journey, step by step) then I most certainly should be making some money with 100 posts.

And Ezoic should pay better than Adsense. Plus added in some Amazon Affiliate links to boot.

I'm thinking there's something wrong with the indexing or the site is penalized. Kayaking is an evergreen niche.

Early on in this journey, I noted that when I created a YouTube channel for this kayaking blog...I got kicked off YouTube. I had started to ask for channel subs in other videos to drive up subscriptions. This got me flagged and my account deleted. Since google owns YT, I'm wondering if that left a black mark on my blog. The blog and YT channel were clearly linked. I had over 20 videos on the channel when they shut it down.

Something happened about two years ago that caused a big drop in traffic.

That sharp decline in traffic around Nov 2020 is when I stopped blogging for a few years and picked back up just a few months ago.

Could traffic drop THAT much if you stop adding content?

Technically we are in Year Four (4) of this blog journey. I started it in March 2019 and we are now in Aug 2022 so...19, 20, 21, 22 = 4. Just not four full years yet.

So I thought I'd check the visitor volume over the years.

Using Google Analytics, I created a graph based on USERS (not pageviews). After graphing each year, I placed a trend line on each one.

2019 was the year I started so you can see the growth.

2020 was when I pumped a lot of material out and growth was really good.

2021 didn't see much action on my part

2020 has seen even less...and it shows in my volumes.

I think this all proves that you have to continuously add content to keep traffic coming. Plus, you have to keep driving traffic via social posts or paying traffic. I don't pay. I use my Facebook group and Reddit, as described in this journey.

Sept of 2019, I can't remember exactly what happened but I think I accidently shut off my GA so no tracking was occuring.

I never did find a good "widget" to sell on the site. All I earned revenue from is ads and a little Amazon Affilite sales.

Here's some Amazon Affiliate numbers:

Last year

this year (Jan - Aug)

Amazon won't let me go back to 2020.

Pennies from YouTube

1660962317137.png

it took almost two years just to get monetized on youtube.

I did Adsense at first but qualified for Ezoic at the 90 days mark in 2019. Falling into the grass-is-always-greener category, I jumped to Monumetric.

I left Monumetric and went back to Ezoic in Mar 2022 after seeing a big drop in earnings and I'm still there. That last move reduced my revenue by 1/3. Not sure why. Both platforms claim they need time to "machine learn" your website and make adjustments. We'll see.

Here's Monumetric from Oct 2020 to Feb 2022 when I left. You can see it was learning and increasing every month until I gave Monumetric notice that I was leaving. Then suddenly it dropped more.

Here's the lastest from Ezoic:

Not quite what I hoped it would be when I started but then again...I picked this rediculously hard niche: radiology.

With all the work I put into this project over the years...I'm not sure I would say it was worth it at this point.

I think I've made more money writing content for other people than I have off my own blog.

Do you know anything about the company/owner?
