First ever shark related fatality in 60 years on the shores of Sydney, an Australian had his lower torso bitten off by a giant 4.5 meter Great White Shark.

The worst part is that the guy was 31 years old and his wife is due for delivery this month.

The incident was caught on camera and you can see pool of blood turning the water red around the victim and the victims upper torso floating away before the shark lunges back again and drags the mans body below the surface.

I have the uncensored version of the video it shows onlookers gasping and the victim yelling presumably out of sheer pain as the shark gnaws on his body. Its pretty graphic. I'm not going to share it right now as its subject to mods allowing graphic content on the platform.

It seems that we kill approximately 100 millions sharks every year.

Sad for the guy though. RIP

I would like that we stop killing these poor creatures in mass also, it's awful and disgusting.

How is that relevant bro? It’s a human life we’re talking about. Please tell me you’re not one of those extreme activists who validate human death by saying that we kill x# of animals every year.

I once saw a shark while being on a boat in south east asia. Was just about to jump into the water. No idea what kinda shark it was, etc., but I almost pissed myself. There is nothing worse than being in the sea, bascially a strange territory and not being able to fight or even run away.

I know what he meant mate.
Which is why I asked how it’s relevant since that guy probably never hunted sharks in his life. So it’s not really tit for tat mate.

Ok mate?

I said it's sad for the guy to be killed.

I don't validate human death because of it.

If humans or animals are killed in a brutal way, I condemned.

I only find sad that newspapers use clickbait titles because a human was dead because of a shark, yet never speaks about the reality of these 100 millions sharks killed brutally every year.

RIP for the guy, it's sad. But RIP to those fishes also. It's relevant because we should place things in the context. Humans kill far more than animals do, it was my point. All cruelty should be strongly attacked.

As for the guy who lost his life, it's damn sad for him and his family.

I value all lives, animals or humans to have a right to live in the best conditions.

See, I knew we could disagree and still be on terms. I think you’re a jackass for bringing that up in a thread about the death of a soon to be father but I still love you.

I dont think his death should be a platform for debate about human impact on ocean ecosystems

Rest in peace, apparently he had a kid on the way, i just hope his family get through it

It's alright, we have the right to disagree on things, it would be boring if we were seeing things the same way all the time.

I am sensitive to animal abuse and sadly these things are never mentioned in the news because it became normal.

These 100 millions sharks don't have newspapers speaking about them unfortunately so I thought it was important to mention it as some people don't even know that humans kill sharks in mass and extreme violence.

all lives matters and have the right to die decently.

It does not disqualify the fact that the guy died and it's sad.
Here we go again with the WOKE sh!t

I hate woke shit, you seem to be more in woke movement as I am, not caring or be compassionate at all about the guy's death and creating an angry comment irrelevant to the thread. Keep this out of here as it's not the appropriate place to create a debate.

I only matter about abuse on any living creature.

RIP for the guy, it's sad, I wish his family the best after this tragic event.

May he rest in peace, and please don't compare the lives of animals to humans. There is no comparison. This is a human life we are talking about.
