Hi guys i want to start a new site , i am thinking to host it on namecheap, anyone has expirience with it?
Hiya,

I am new to the forums so take my reply with a pinch of salt.

Personally, I would not use them. For cheap e-mail hosting that doesn't require state-of-the-art security or buying domain names to later transfer them off they are fantastic but.

SSL and Hosting I know too many people that regretted it, but others may say it's fine. I guess it all depends on what you are doing, if you are hosting a 1-page resume, sure maybe ok? Money maker? no.

They are great and have topnotch support, but if you have lots of traffic, you'll need a vps (I use turnkeyinternet).

You may try plans from libertyvps.net and asvhost.com as they are reliable and cheap.

Even though they are not that expensive, you can get 25GB SSD with 1TB transfer and no websites or inodes limit + free ssl by installing a VPS with CyberPanel for free (openlitespeed based) for... 5$ a month, no extra charges, not throttling, no nothing.

How many visitors (traffic) can this handle at the same time? Thanks

2) they give free SSL for the first year only, and if you want your sites to be secured (https instead of http) starting with year 2 you must pay $8 per year, per site. If you can afford paying the extra $8 per year, per site, to have your domain name say https instead of http, that's fine I guess. But I didn't like it.
For most users, there’s no need to pay for SSL these days... SSL used to be kind of expensive and very exclusive actually. Lets Encrypt changed everything.

yeah, but Namecheap don't have Let's Encrypt, so I had to manually install the LE certificates onto all of my websites that are hosted on NC

Yes, it is safe, let me tell you that it is mainly famous for Domain not for Hosting

Tbh for me it worked when traffic was low. Switched to Cloudways+Vultr once got traffic.

Namecheap would only be good for testing purpose.

Once you get enough content, its too.slow.

Saw a spike in traffic once moved from slow hosting to a better one.

Namecheap shared hosting is very bad, but the vps is good.

Very easy to use but I don't like their WP hosting. It's too slow for Elementor for example

You can host your site for free with Google Firebase with some work.

I can't understand why so much hate around NameCheap.

For a startup project is absolutely fine.. Generally speaking I tend to recommend VPS hosting over Shared hosting as you are getting more for less.

Shared hosting package 'Stellar Business' works very fine for me, even with a lot of traffic. Price is very good for the performance.

Downtimes are happening from time to time, that would be the only downside in my case. Tech support can be so so.

But, overall, I can recommend it for sure.
