I just got approved for a new .edu blog and a edu email address, and was wondering what I could do to maximize them to their full potential.

Thanks in advance for all your suggestions.

Is the domain something like xxxhardcore.edu? ;)

You can probably sound more legitimate on cl with a .edu, if spamming cl is your thang.

What you should do: Gain loads of page rank, then PM me to let me know when you've done it. Be sure to leave all spam filters off.

By the way, how did you get an edu blog?

what you should do: get tons of backlinks, do onpage seo, and get lots of traffic.

Thanks for all the suggestions so far. I can't really sell any items on this blog as it is against the schools terms of use so it has to be used to promote other sites.

So now I have a follow up question for you guys. Which strategy would you recommend.

1. Buying tons of backlinks to my blogs (I realized they allow me to create an unlimited number of blogs) in order to increase their PR and then use my blogs new and improved PR juice to promote my "money sites"

2. I've received a couple of request asking if I would be interested in exchanging links, however what if we took that a little further. What if I partnered up with a couple of you guys to build up the PR of one/some of these blogs and then shared the PR juice. While doing some research of the other blogs hosted by the University, there are several PR6, PR7 and PR8. So the potential for growth is there and for powerful keyword links.

Again...thanks again for your thoughts and suggestions.
