Why are we working so hard to make ourselves expendable/obsolete?

We all know where this is going and yet we still tirelessly work to pursue it.
It's like the moth that is drawn to the flame and leads itself to it's own demise and destruction.

So seriously, why are we working so profusely and adamantly to develop A.I. robots/androids that
will be smarter than humans, stronger, faster, more efficient, cheaper to build, maintain, and replace
and will be able to do nearly all tasks a human can do but better.

Of course there are so many great potential uses for it and it seems like such a cool sci-fci concept to
fantasize about as a kid, but seriously, why are we building them? What exactly do the so-called geniuses
behind all this think we are going to end up?

Can nobody see it coming? Class wars, new issues with ethics, new laws for the robots, robot rights and civil
movements, prejudice, discrimination, equal rights, the whole nine yards. The whole debates over "are they alive?"
Is it murder if you kill a robot? Should a human go to prison if they assault or deactivate an A.I. robot's life?
Interspecies relationships with robots, should they legalize robot marriages? What if some robots identify themselves
as human, should they be seen as humans and be allowed to participate in human sports despite all their advantages?

Why are we doing this? Do we really not know this isn't going to happen?

because we are pursuing better life. And some people thinks that with more advance technology, we can achieve it. so they will pursue what they think was right.

But car is faster than human feet?

Email is not smarter but easier and faster than a letter. People lost many jobs.

Also, you dont need robot rights at first. If you destroy a robot, you ofcourse will go to jail. If you destroy a car, you go to jail or pay for that damage atleast.

Can ppl marriage robots? Yes they can. People can even marriage trees and colors and whatever not.

I think it will improve our life. I mean, sure they will be more intelligent, but thats cool. I think at some point humans will be so lazy. No one will need to work and ai will handle everything. In my opinion: thats a step to a huge Evolution of our species.

We could finally conquer space.

Im not afraid of them killing everyone. Thats usually something humans are doing. Humans kill millions of other humans and also millions of animals every day.

Maybe they kill us all. But in the end: Guess who was a idol? Hitler, stalin, mao?

Because there's a conflict of interests between individuals and the society.
